Got it lol. I ask because I don’t see the fish guarding very much. Still has the black throat but no guarding, or atleast not often. Did she just get bored!
Cichlids are often pretty poor parents the first time or first few times they lay eggs. They stop guarding, they eat 'em, abandon 'em, maybe hatch but then eat the young...not unusual for "beginner" parents in the cichlid group.

BABIES!!!!!!!! I noticed the mom was drifting off away from where she usuallly guards. I noticed them about an hour ago, and still in shock! I also think I have atleast one other pair

I just got back, and don’t see fry. But the tank is dirty, so I’m hoping for the best ?
My G. terrapurpura's first spawn got wiped out within a couple days.. Assuming tankmates (4 more terrapurpuras, bloodfin tetras). pulled the fry from the second spawn about a month later..No more fry. I think I have 2 pairs guarding eggs.
