My baby oscar is not eating. Been 6 days.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Welcome aboard
I suggest not doing this.
Have you noticed any harassment from the other Oscar prior to moving the Oscar to quarantine tank? Also have you noticed any stringy white poop?
Alright I will not force feed. There was 0 harassment from the other Oscar, they formed a bond immediately swimming together side by side. Then the smaller one started sitting/ laying on the bottom of the tank. Then moved him to a medicated QT tank by himself.
I have not seen long stringy poop. Only 1 poop and it was brown colored.

I just went home for lunch and he was swimming. Tried to feed and still nothing. BUT I did notice a long white stingy poop coming from him. So he does have a parasite. I’m going to the pet store after work and purchasing Pimafix. People say it’s good stuff and I can mix it with general cure. (API said I could)

I was told that Metroplex, Focus, and CZ Clear work. So instead of buying melafix and pimafix i purchased those three instead. Do you think they will help with his internal parasites?View attachment 1502706
General Cure is a pretty good med the problem is getting the Oscar to eat. Tbh happens to plenty of people who buy fish not Knowing the fish is infected. Save your receipt possibly to late to save the Oscar. Also would definitely suggest treating other Oscars food with General Cure as well.

Yeah I have done 2 doses of GC over the course of 4 days. The problem is he refuses to eat. I watched a video on how to directly put the new meds into his stomach so that is what I will do on Sunday. Hopefully he doesn’t pass.

Cz clear is to be orally injected through the mouth and into the stomach I wouldn’t do it on an oscar that small. If you haven’t done it before, you can blow out their gut. TBH CZ clear is probably just metronidazole and an antibiotic like oxytetracycline.

Could I dose the tank with it instead?
