Most difficult fish to keep?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
In my experience nothing is difficult to keep if everything is setup right. Like the size of tank and filtration.
Nothing is difficult if you can consistently maintain ideal conditions for a species, but some species have conditions that are harder to maintain, especially for beginners. For example, >9 pH, high TDS and 90+F water of alcolapia, or <4pH and minimal TDS water of things like parosphromenus. I imagine balancing out ideal brackish salinities would be difficult for beginners as well.

For me arapima and Texas cichlids
Idk why but no luck
Ah , now, that’s a different thing! Are there fish that every time you try you have bad results or no luck with- yes most definitely!!!!!!
Used to be arrowana- lost so many before or at 12” I nearly gave up. Smallest gap an they would jump through, accidentally left a gap and off they went again, etc. etc.
