Having some goldfish problems

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Also, just took another look at Shadow, and he (she?) looks rounder on the right side and thinner on the left. I know it's way out of breeding season, but their tank does stay in the low to mid 70s. Could it be possible that Shadow is "gravid"? None of the others look asymmetrical like Shadow, and that was from an areal view

I'm going to wake up and one of my fish will be dead, as that has been my past experiences.
Don't let that get you down it happens to almost everyone including myself.
The store sold you feeder Comet Goldfish that they really don't care for like the other fish sold.
I purchased 5 Rosy Red Minnow about 3 years ago and one is surviving. Rosy Reds are feeders also. This was a experiment to find out how long they would survive. Tbh I am pleased although only one is surviving.

true, but Goldie and Gradient had kinda surprised me when they were ok for about 8 days after I got them from the fair, but one day I'd came home from work and Goldie was unnaturally still, he'd been floating between the terrarium wall and a mini seahorse statue I'd put in with them so they'd have a little scenery. Not even 10 hours later (~4:30 in the morning) I'd woken up to a dead Gradient as well. He'd bad blood around his gills, which the interwebs said was a sign of ammonia poisoning

Too young.
I kinda figured, but I wasn't sure. Their scale colors are changing, which from what I've read about goldfish means they're about a year old, so all my goldfish are the same age. Dusty, Shadow, and Zippi were the most noticable, but I did spot a new patch of orange on sunspot on the front left pelvic fin.

I suggest feed lightly once a day and stay consistent with your 50% weekly water changes.
ok. I had planned of fasting them for ~2 days, then try giving them peeled peas to try and help with possible swim bladder in Sunspot. Sometimes my parents act like they know what's best for my fish. My dad swore up and down 'it couldn't be ammonia poisoning' but I doubt he has ever taken care of goldfish. I think they're just now kinda thinking "hey, it's her fish. She can take care of them just fine" and I can take care of them

I know this isn't for my fish, but my brother has a veil tail betta fish in a 5 gallon tank. Good filtration, all betta-friendly stuff for Stuart. Recently, Stuart got some kind of scale thing one one side of his body. My brother got some sort of leaf-nature package (can't remember what it's called) and turned Stuart's tank into a dark tank. Fast forward to today, I get home and my mom told me that Stuart had lost his ventral fin and his tail was looking ragged. My brother finally did the first partial water change in a good while, and they used some of the treatment stuff I've got and they said Stuart perked up a bit, but are still a bit worried he won't make it through the night. Any idea what Stuart has?
