what are some suggestion you guys have for fish that can breath air and are suitable tank mates for my bichirs?
I have a 10ft X 2ft X 3ft tank and the residents are: Endlicheri, Ornate, Teugelsi, Weeksii and Ansorgii.

These are some fish that i'm thinking of adding, but i'm still not sure if some of them are compatible with my bichirs.
will some of them work?
-Walking catfish (Clarias batrachus)
-Dojo Loach
-Channa Maru
-South American Lungfish (i've heard that the african species is aggressive and the australian species is too big and expensive!).
-Clown Knife Fish
-Bowfin Fish

can you suggestion some other snakehead species that are compatible with bichirs? i'm from southeast asia btw so snakeheads are fine to have in a home aquarium.
Other fish species (air breathers pls) suggestions are welcome as well!
thank you!

My choice would be the Florida Gar.

From my experience, I wouldn’t keep a bowfin with the bichirs. I tried it, granted they were all young, but the bowfin killed two the second day and the bowfin was the last fish added

Channa Maru (channa marulioides) AKA emperor or cobra snakeheads, can grow up to 28 inches long which can be a problem if your tank width is only 2 feet. They are also aggressive fish and predators. My channa micropeltes, at only 12 iches long, killed my buttikoferi hornet, one of the most aggressive fish. It is coexisting with my RD, Pacu, and RTC for now. So even if you are planning to get it, it depends on the size of the current tankmates and the size of the channa maru which you are buying.

However you can keep clarius catfish which generally tend to max out at 12 to 16 inches due to the fact that the ones sold are usually culls and have poor genetics. They are also active fish which can provide some cool movement
