Good day everyone, ive had s super red monkey for a few months now, he has faded and can be very deep red. But there are days that he loses a little color, especially after water changes. Anything i can do to keep his color or make even deeper red?

Also any suggestions on what to feed and how often.
Thank you all in advance

Hello, i feed pellets. With bloodworms as a treat a couple times a week.
Vietnam breeder (that focuses on SRM) told me to feed raw shrimp for best red colouration but I guess freeze dried shrimp maybe the safest alternative to raw shrimp.

I've never kept a SRM b4, but krill has a ton of natural red enhancers. Maybe get some and give it a try?

I can attest to the wonder of krill. This was my Oscar pre krill.20170806_110910.jpg
I then started to give her a piece or two of freeze dried krill each meal.20171007_103213.jpg
And here she is a month or so later.

And what she finally turned into. Talk about an explosion of color.

SRM and GB are very sensitive to PH and temperature change. Make sure to measure the PH level of the water and ensure that your PH and temperature don't fluctuate too much.

Yea he has started to fade in his fade lately.
What should the ph level and temperature be?
Thank you!

For Flowerhorns between Ph 7.5 to 8.2. (Mine is always at the higher side of PH 8.2 due to my tap water source here). Once you obtain between this PH, try to maintain it. You can add coral chips or oyster shells to buffer the PH. I see you have coral chips in your tank, but that amount is too little.

Try adding heater to maintain the temperature between 26-28°C.
