where we have it for cheap
Greetings all. It's been a while since I've posted on this site, quick question does anyone have any experience with the EAzyPod Automatic with UV? Im having a 7x4x3 above ground pond built with viewing window and I ordered one for my filtration.

First, I've never used an EAzyPod Automatic with UV, nor even heard of it until today.
A few thoughts I had glancing at it...
- Personally, I avoid overly complicated systems. There are simply more things to go wrong to cause failure. I prefer a K.I.S.S. approach.
- It lists a max flow rate of 1,320. That appears to be the flow rate of the pump at zero resistance. Factor in head pressure (if any), plumbing, media, etc and I'd expect around 1,000 gph actual flow rate. Always ignore the "for up to X gallon pond/aquarium" ratings.
- This model pushes the water through UV, then media. That's completely backwards for UV efficiency.

I used a BioForce Pond Filter 20 years ago. I was very impressed with it.
They had UV versions, but mine didn't have it. I did use UV lights on smaller canisters though.
My BioForce did not have a backwash, much less an auto cleaning function. But it was rather simple to clean, especially if it is already outside. I used it indoors on a 300 Gal Rubbermaid. The hard part was wheeling it outside to then clean it.

*Note: The manufacturer of BioForce has been bought and sold a couple of times since I had mine. I cannot speak to the quality of the modern versions.

I run the Nexus which is just a larger version of the Eazy Pod. Very nicely design and well constructed from the UK. Very simple to use with built-in bypass to prevent clogging or filter stoppage.

What size tank are you using that on, i was thinking on that for 1500l tank, smilar size to the Op`s.

I will more likeley go 6x2x2 sump as i dont have agreat deal of space.

I have it on my 1600g pond. Probably better suited for pond use.
The good thing is, backwashing is rarely needed because there is a built-in settling chamber. Periodic draining is all I do regularly.
