How many tanks does everyone have?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh I loved my big tanks and fish but with a young family and work they were a lot of work and the cost was climbing all the time to keep them running. Even with 39 tanks running costs are about 1/6 of 4 largest tanks were. Better power saving equipment has come a long way in helping with that too. especially lighting.
We all have to adapt and change in life about 25 years ago I had a fish room with almost 100 tanks( mostly run off air) then life happened and I was out of the hobby for almost 15 years. I totally agree that the equipment is better now.

Just got back into the hobby about 6 months ago. I too suffer from MTS, currently have 4 tanks with fish, and 1 that is in process.

125 gal - Green Terror, Blue Acara, Nerite snails, Giant Danios
120 gal - Oscar, Jack Dempsey
75 gal - Texas Cichlid
40 gal - Convict Cichlid
90 Wavefront from 2004 I just purchased for my gf to have her own community tank

I was very into the hobby when I started where most the tanks originated, but as fish went away, I let tanks be empty for some years due to college and life. My 120 housed my original Oscar for about 9 years before I had to put her down. That was about a year ago now she died. Still have my Texas and a old lady Convict from those days that live alone, in my Geriatric ward.

Hey all.
I was curious as to how many tanks everyone has running currently. I know I have multiple tank syndrome lol.
I am currently running 11 tanks ranging from 10 gal to 125 gal with 4 more in the garage that I have to find spots for.

I look forward to seeing how many others share MTS!
40 - ranging from 120 - 1200 liter

I have 43 currently running. Four 240g’s, one 150g, one 90g, twenty 40B’s, ten 33g longs, six 20g’s, and one rimless 10g on my kitchen counter.
I can't wait to have the space for 200 plus gallon tanks again! Sounds like and awesome setup!

I had a pair of Texas in my original fish room loved them especially in breeding dress. I got back in the hobby with a free bow front. I hated that tank the wave front sounds cool though.

I’m planning on shutting down the room over the summer. It’s just too much work to keep up with them as I never set it up to run them fully automated, still doing manual water changes. Plus with the availability of fish I’m interested has decreased each and every year I don’t need that many. I’ll keep the large tanks but ultimately I would love to add a 10-12 foot tank in the future.

I got this 90 Wavefront from a buddy for a steal. It had chrome legs and an extra storage shelf (6" or so) between the tank and the open area below, but the tank sat way too high for my girlfriend (its her tank). I removed the useless dead space under the tank which brought it down about 6 inches, and had a buddy powdercoat the legs a satin black. Came out really nice. We have it on a 407 canister and she is still trying to decide decor so pay no attention to the scape. It's definitely a unique tank, its from 2004, and is still very clean. I tried using window tint on the back glass (looked amazing) but it still bled too much light through, so we ended up painting it anyway.
