It was an established tank that was a mess,Cleaned up the filter, changed the media ect.. I changed the water almost completly 2 times by vacumming the gravel so much. Added prime as bottle says. I've checked my ammonia = 0, nitrites = 0, nitrates =.5
When you say you cleaned the filter and changed the media - did you actually clean the filter and replace media? If so, you likely lost most of the bb that made the tank an established one.

Yes. Female jack or a cross with jack. It looks very pale and washed out. Is she stressed?

My mistake. I must have been going by another avatar. Yes, that's a Jack Dempsey. The colors on the dorsal are unmistakably JD. My JDs were very washed out similar to that for a couple months with a light substrate. I agree with the suggestion that going to a darker substrate will bring out some colors.

I was hoping for a Green Terror. Petco has the green terrors and jack dempesys in the same tank. I was told it was a terror. She has almost doubled in size since I bought her. My tank is only 30 gallons, too small for a Jack Dempsey.
