Oh, ok. My old jack only got pale like then when she would get moved around. Otherwise she was very dark.
Here is a comparison of my female jack and my female green terror close to when I first got them. The top is the jack. The bottom is the green terror. Notice how the gt has blue lines on its face? And the jack has only a couple spots under the eye.
Here is a couple months later on the jack.
See the red on the top dorsal fin? And there is non on the tail.
The pet store I got my green terror from also kept them with jacks. Look for blue lines (not spots) on the face and orange on the tips of both the dorsal fine and the tail fin.
To keep either cichlid you will need a tank bigger then 30gls though. Is that just a grow out tank?
New picture of myfish. She tore her dorsal fin fighting with the other dempsey`s I had at first.
I will need to trade this fish as she gets bigger or get a bigger tank. 55 gallon are very abundant at Petco and Petsmart. I would really like a male though, or better yet a male green terror.
It's been a while since my last post, I been busy the last year or so. I go full blast on things then give it up for a while. I've upgraded from the 30 gallon tall to a 55 gallon. Our Dempsy likes it, she is still shy except when she knows I'm gonna feed her, she will just about bite my fingers. She about 6 1/2'' to 7' now, she's very healthy and lays eggs every now and then. She's very mean when she has eggs.
I don't understand do people do research on fish before you buy them? how can you not walk into a fish store and not know the difference between a JD and GT
