Not many fish are a taxanomic nightmare like polys, and while one subspecies may just be that big I googled it and saw links to here and mostly 12" which is somewhat correct

Even 12 inches arent too common. Kind of my point tho. It depends on what link you click and how you word the reply.

Angelphish Angelphish and his mota are great examples.

Say i google mota's and come accross his thread. I'll see that his mota isnt aggressive. Now i go and post on mfk that "mota's arent aggressive"...doesnt make sense right.

Think we just have to go by the law of averages.
The mota you are talking about may snap yet.Time will tell.

Of course its possible thats why it makes a good example of how you word a reply based off of a species or filtration method that you dont have 1st hand experience keeping or doing can be tricky.

Agreed.
It can be tricky when you have first hand experience too.
There are no absolutely correct answers when it comes to compatibility issues.
I always tend to play it safe with my advise in these circumstances.
Better to be warned of the dangers rather than say, yeah try it they will be ok. Only for the fish to tear each other apart.
If the poster asking the question tries it,he only has himself to blame if it all goes wrong. Not the person that advised him.
It would be wise to advise a smoker to quit if he wants a long healthy life, yet he may carry on smoking and live to be 101.
That's why I believe we can only advise by the most likely scenario as nothing is absolute.

The thing about my Mota is, he isn't just peaceful, he's a whimp. He doesn't just leave everything alone, he's scared of everything.

J jaws7777 Hopefully if someone stumbled across my thread, they would assume Motas are aggressive based of the first few responses I received.

Sens vary by type. Some are small, some are big. My WC can apparently top our 14" long term
