Your missing the point regardless of that its a perfect example of how googling and not stating where somone got the information from can lead to confusion and a misconception by the person who asked the question, they may believe that its a fact that they get x amount of inches.


Same could be said for someonw who keeps the fish. I have a sen that never passed 6 inches it wouldnt be correct for me to state that sens get 6 inches no more no less as a matter of fact. I can only state what my experience has been.
There really isnt a type of sen. It either wc or cb and if cb how good its genetics are. Both are senagalus cuvier There is the mythical sen. meridionalis but ni one gas actually kept it so who knows if it actuallu exists.
Same with wild caught just because (example) one endli or lap hits 24inches it doesnt mean all will.

Always a grey area

Hello; OK, as is the norm in so many threads we get to a place where there are differences of opinion. This is the way it nearly always works out so let me call it normal. We may be at the point in the thread where we go around and around the same points until the thread dies out.

So before this happens here is an idea. Someone makes up a short code of some sort for the various situations. For example only and not indicated to be the format for the code other than it be short.
Never kept the fish = NKF
I have actual experience = HE (maybe HE 8 for eight years experience)
I have read about it = HR
I have read about it from a trusted source = HRT
my best guess based on similar experience = BGE
My best guess based on nothing = BGDA
I am a troll and only care about stirring things up = CARP

The codes could be based on some other format such as bold print for actual experience, italics for opinion, underlined for from a trusted source.

The format could be something else entirely. I nominate Hendre to come up with samples of such a code seeing as how he is apparently the inspiration for this thread. Maybe he can con one of his teachers into making it an assignment and get credit that way.

Hello; That is solar eclipse day around here. I am just outside of totality so will not try to look. Already the places just south of my location in the line of totality are having a traffic crush. Ad to that a race in Bristol TN this weekend.

Hello; Yes it will, beautiful isn't it. Adds another layer of complexity to an already complex hobby. Another part of the beauty is Hendre gets the blame if it goes bad.

The mods could make Hendre an honorary Mod in charge of reading and policing all the threads for proper use of the codes.

One of the points of this thread has been that many post and we do not have a way to judge the good from the BS and the clever trolls.

On a more serious note. Even without an enforced code ( which I do not like the sound of) those of us who like to picture ourselves as being responsible might adopt some sort of language in more common use. If you do not have confidence in hendre, then perhaps some one else will step up. After all been a lot of stuff written in this thread so far.
