    Dino

Thanks, I'll be sure to skip the land-based meats, I just picked up some shrimp pellets and dino went crazy for them so I have a food I can keep around in case the shrimp aren't in stock I have plenty quarantined but in case there is a shortage it's nice to have a backup. Thanks for the...

    Dino

Hey thought I'd share some pics of my senegal, as the thread title should tell you his name is Dino. If anyone watched the Flintstones as a kids they'll know where the name came from, the fact that they're sometimes called dinosaur eels made the fit perfect :D Anyway I got him just last...

    Help IDing pleco

Was planning to putting that in my last post, but I had class ;) I'm feeding him algae wafers (actually about to head out to pick up some more I'm running low), he'll occasionally eat cichlid pellets that I use to supplement my senegalus' diet, and I give him a thin slice of cucumber every...

    Help IDing pleco

Thanks jclyde, as you mentioned some plecos will feed on slime coats, I already have this little guy with my p. senegalus and have only seen him try to eat the slime coat momentarily when he was first introduced to the tank, since then I haven't seen him try. I have his tank on my desk (college...

    Help IDing pleco

Hey guys, thanks for the replies and help, I'm fairly certain he's a gibby. I've been doing some reading and noticed some reports of them not working well with discus, can anyone confirm this? I've been planning a 75g discus tank and was planning on putting him there until I can get around to...

    Help IDing pleco

Hey just recently got a new pleco, it was sold as a Hi-fin spotted plecostomus but I haven't been able to find much info on them so I believe that is just a common name for them and not their scientific name. Anyway and ID and some info would be much appreciated, I haven't got many pictures...

Delhezi with its head in the sand.

Check out the "identifying normal behaviors..." thread that is stickied. I personally haven't seen it with my poly but it may be the small gravel substrate I'm using. Not sure if it's a species specific behavior, I have a senegalus, or if thay only do it with the proper substrate.

    KILLER PLECOS

From my personal experience, I just recently got a "hi-fin spotted pleco" it's probably a colloquial name rather than it's real name, but I caught him sucking on my senegalus's side a couple weeks ago, I haven't seen it latch on since then so I'm not sure if it will continue, but make sure your...
