Organic way to kill Algae in Outdoor Ponds

I'm not sure how much two bags is but if it is working don't knock it. This year in New York we had a pretty cool Summer, so next year I will add a little more if it gets warmer. The straw breaking down has not effected the fish in any way. Catfish, Koi and Bass all have done really well with...

Organic way to kill Algae in Outdoor Ponds

I grow my own now, but if you have a local farm paper, in my area they are in Diners and small stores given out for free. Local straw farmers place ads in them. You can also call a local SPCA and ask if they know anyone who has Barley straw bales. I'm sure someone has it in your area, it just...

Farming with a moated system to extend the growing seasons

In spring I put in an 8 foot wide 5 foot deep moat around my crops. I raise fish and plants in the water, it is an old system that keeps the Temp. higher giving me an extra 2 to 3 weeks in both Spring and Fall. It also gives the insects somewhere to drink while pollinating the flowers.
