red parrot cichlid

I have successfully bred a red parrot with a texas Cichlid. Now I am trying to breed the red parrot (female) with one of her offspring (looks like a texas cichlid but is orange). They have bred 3 times, but the eggs get fungus. Is it possible to breed a mother and her male offspring?
