i'm a spurs and celts fan, so of course I don't like Kobe, lol. i don't like him at all as a person or player, even though he is good at the game.

KG-1
Paul-2
Kobe-3

Kobe has rings, but none without the guy who's considered to be the greatest, most dominant big man to ever play the game. He has none as the "#1 guy". Don't forget, before they started making all their moves, the Laker's were one of the worst teams in their conference, while Shaq took Miami to a title. As were the Celtics, until KG showed up. The Celtics are by far the best team in the league, and lead EVERY major defensive category. That ALL revolves around KG. Yeah, he has people around him, but so do the other candidates. ;) Chris Paul is simply amazing, and I wouldn't be upset one bit if he won it. Simply put, there is no more complete player in the game as KG. Period. That will all show when they win the championship. :) I agree about LeBron, he's full of himself. And there is NO successor to MJ, sorry.

The MVP will be Kobe or Chris Paul, and it should be Kobe. Frankly how Kobe has gone this long without winning one is a disgrace. Stupid Steve Nash.:irked:

Kobe has gone this long because he has NEVER BEEN the mvp. When the Laker's were winning, it was because it revolved around Shaq. Honestly, though, I never really understood the whole Nash thing since they've never made it past the conference finals.

Kobe hands down..wake me up when chris paul has played in kobes level for 12 years and been called the best player in the NBA..anybody can play well for a season or 2 but to do it for 8 or more seasons is something else...

So because he's a young guy, he can't be MVP??? :screwy: And by the way, Kobe hasn't played at this level for 12 years. You apparently don't remember his first couple seasons! That said, Paul has started out FAR better than Kobe did.....And its Most Valuable, not best....

Dwayne Wade took miami to the title with 40+ point games in the playoffs. Shaq can't win without a player to play off of. Kobe is that player. Kevin Garnett was a beast in the beginning of the season, but he's slacked off since. Chris Paul...well, I have no other words other than WOW! But I don't see him taking the championship. About the celtics being the best, hmmm, i don't know. If you look talent wise, pistons have a better team. Lakers have a better team. Boston has just been in sync, because the big 3 aren't looking to lead the league in points...They just want to win a championship before retiring!

i Said if Paul has played 12 years at the level kobe does..and i was refering to consistency in playing, anyone can be a one hit wonder just look at diaw, gordon, hughes, marbury, all one hit wonders cashing in on their contract year performance and gordon didnt even cash in yet the dumbass ,and if you're the BEST in the WHOLE LEAGUE it also means that you are the MOST VALUABLE to your team:screwy: isnt that what the MVP is all about the players VALUE to his TEAM:screwy:

paul is good but deserving for MVP i think not..you have to make your bones first little fella, take the hornets to the playoffs for the FIRST time in your career and maybe in the future you will be MVP.

the only reason paul is starting out better than kobe is because kobe had to EARN his spot..paul's position was handed to him by default (trading away baron davis) imagine if paul played with nash or even baron, how much burn would he get and how much of an MVP would paul look like...

No, "best" is not always most valuable. If that were the case, why was Jordan not MVP every year he played? :screwy: MVP is THE PLAYER THAT MAKES EVERYONE AROUND HIM BETTER. Not the guy who scores the most points. Example: Kobe scored 53 last night...........AND THEY LOST TO MEMPHIS!!!! KG or Paul could lead the league in scoring too if they wanted, guaranteed. But that's not how you win. Your one hit wonder examples are and were nowhere near the player as Paul, who HAS earned his spot by the way......he beats those guys on a nightly basis head to head. ;) Kobe earned his spot no more than Paul. Paul just hasn't thrown up as memorable airballs in his first 2 seasons. LOL

Yeah, that's why those 2 teams only won with him there. ;) You're backwards, they got THEIR play off of him. Teams have to devote at least 2 guys to him, so that opens up "the next best option". Your Celtics comment just negated itself. Their not the most talented (which I TOTALLY disagree with), the big 3 aren't looking to lead the league in scoring, and they just want to win a championship before retiring....isn't that the idea!
