KG and pauls CANNOT lead the league in SCORING..how did paul earn it he never had to compete for the starting job? and even jordan said it himself he didnt hit every shot and failure is what drove jordan to be the best.. if Kobe didnt score those 53 points the lakers would have gone to lose by 55 pts. Kobe does what he needs to do to make his team win thats the bottom line..the LAKERS would be nothing without the guy if that isnt value enough i dont know what is..

anyways my opinion is my opinion..i would take kobe as the MVP, long time coming

Ok, so Paul averages 21p and 11a, saying all assists are for 2, he accounts for an average of 43ppg. Kobe averages 28 and 5. That's 38ppg. Paul also leads the league in steals, what else does Kobe lead in?.......oh yeah.....he's one of the top in the league in TURNOVERS! Hmm.....I think Paul has him beat. Him or Garnett COULD lead the league in scoring, they just understand the importance of their teammates. (have you forgotten that Garnett use to be one of the top scorers in the league?) No they would not have lost by 55, someone else would have done the scoring, so I think you're over-exagerating a bit. How can you be a Lakers fan and say that they would be nothing without Kobe?! And so basically he should be MVP because the rest of his team sucks?! Long time coming.......Come on dude. Seriously, how far have they gone without Shaq?

Kobe is the most valuable player, he is the best, most skilled, and most feared player in the game. He deserves the MVP almost any year he plays, and the fact that he doesn't have one, and friggin Steve Nash has 2 is crazy.

I agree, I'm not sure why Nash has 2. You have to win (at least go deep in the playoffs) to be MVP. Yeah, Kobe has rings, but SHAQ led those teams. That's obvious in the way the Lakers' record fell off when he left. Yeah Kobe's good, but there are others in the league doing more for their teams to WIN. And don't forget the Lakers were down in their division until Gasol came along, then they started making a run. Now he's hurt, and they're losing again......strange.

Ok, but Gasol isn't all they are missing. I'm a CP3 fan, but take away Peja and West for a while and se what happens. Also if going deep into the playoffs is your criteria, then neither Paul or Garnett could win this year because they have been deep with their teams.

No, I was referring to Nash, and then the PREVIOUS years of Kobe. You're right, they ALL have something to prove this year. Honestly, it will all come down to the end of the year and who can do the most with it. It really is a close race, and I just enjoy all the different opinions.

Dont take it literally dude..yeah the rest of his team sucks and they still make the playoffs every year thats shows something about kobe..well they were top 4 this year WITHOUT shaq and gasol..the whole shaq argument is overplayed the lakers wouldnt have won the crown if kobe never developed his game, they would never have gone past the blazers or the kings, they would have doubled and hacked shaq and the lakers to submission... how many titles have shaq won without a talented wing player..shaq would've been doubled every game and with his free throw% the heat wouldnt have even sniffed the playoffs..

anyways the only thing missing for kobe is the ring "without Shaq" that would silence the critics and haters, or maybe they will start asking how many titles has kobe won without gasol? there's always something negative to say why dont they just recognize the guy for what he is a phenomenal basketball player and give him his props...

No, "best" is not always most valuable. If that were the case, why was Jordan not MVP every year he played? MVP is THE PLAYER THAT MAKES EVERYONE AROUND HIM BETTER. Not the guy who scores the most points. Example: Kobe scored 53 last night...........AND THEY LOST TO MEMPHIS!!!! KG or Paul could lead the league in scoring too if they wanted, guaranteed. But that's not how you win. Your one hit wonder examples are and were nowhere near the player as Paul, who HAS earned his spot by the way......he beats those guys on a nightly basis head to head. Kobe earned his spot no more than Paul. Paul just hasn't thrown up as memorable airballs in his first 2 seasons. LOL

for the MOST PART my laker team,, L.O was under the weather and played lil of minutes... our point guard fish ia also injured but is a solid player and knows this is crunch time.. but is HURT!! all we have is our bench right now... FYI lakers are a GREAT team without KOBE... look @ our LINEUP without him... think about it( exactly )!!! the only reason why were so much BETTER is cause of KOBE... get it!!! i hope so!! kobe brings the LAKERs to a WHOLE new LEVEL... as he would do the same for any team thats already good.... adding kobe is a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!!
