1.5 gallon bowl stocking

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ah okay....hopefully some others people see this and can reccomend some.
Cheers for helping so far :)

No can do I'm afraid. I guess I'll keep itvas just shrimp...I was hoping the bumblebee would be ok but if it means they'll be better off not living in my bowl then so be it

There are lots of options when it comes to fish for a 1.5 gallon tank with no filtration. You can try killiefish or small livebearers such as guppies.

Different strokes, for different folks. Although I have yet to see any aquarium guide recommend keeping a single guppy in anything less than 10g.

Maybe he means an endler or 2? Only killing that I can think of that'll fit in my bowl is the least killifish which is pretty small.

Edit: wait are the gobies not an option at all?

If you don't mind doing a lot of water changes, you can definitely keep them alive, just not providing a very big world for those fish.

Okaayyyy....can you define how many water changes "a lot" is. Of I'm honest even if its a little tank there is quite a lot of plants to to stuff with in there (for the fish).
I'm only considering fish because like I said earlier I'm not sure what they pesticide is and even if I do PWCs daily for a few weeks or longer I don't know if it'll still harm the shrimp if I get any.

Really depends on how well your plants are growing(light intensity, photoperiod, species, etc)

Come to think of it, I have spawned dwarf gouramis in 1g jars(temporarily) and have done daily water changes.

Light is a 3.5W LED clip on lamp thing, plants are fairly fast growing (can't remember names but had them before) and I've seen slight growth over the past few days of having them.
Would a pair or single bumblebee be OK in it? Sorry if I'm sounding naïve, I've never done something like this bowl project before so its new territory for me :P

I didn't think a DG could even fit in a 1g jar tbh! That's cool man, especially that they spawned in it as well.
On a side note what would you say about sparkling gouramis/s in it? I saw a lonely one at my LFS today...
