I currently have an fx5 on my 120 and will be upgrading to a 240 soon. It says it can handle 400 gallons but i hear of a lot of people using multiple big canisters on a tank of this size. Am i going to be getting enough filtration when i upgrade?

If your stock consist of 5xPbass, 1xJag, 1xBlack aro and some other random fish, then yes, yes you will need more filtration. If you DO NOT plan on a sump, then a FX5 will do the trick. 2xFX5's and two power heads will be a pretty good start for water circulation in a 240gal tank.

I run 2 xp3's and a eheim 2260 on my 240 and I think mine could use maybe one more 2260 and I would be happy

I have two FX5s and an Eheim 2080 on a tank half that size.

More is always better.

210gal i have a FX5,Eheim 2262 and cascade 1000 and they keep the tank looking great.

I do not think you will be pleased with one FX5 on a tank that size. My 300 gallon has the same footprint and a single FX5 would not fit the bill for long. Two is far better IMO, if nothing else for the mechanical power.

Heh Justin, how many FX5s you got on your three hundy right now?

One FX5 and one XP3 are just enough for my fully stocked 150. I would use three FX5.
