1 rhomb vs 5 RBPs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i'd go for a rhom, like a lot of people i started with rbp's but they were too skittish for me.. i now got a rhom which is way better in my opinion ;)

quick question, i agree that RBP are a bit boring. I was wondering if there were any other fish besides a pleco that the would be inclined to not eat?

Thanks

uhurmmm

one of my 8" inch pleco got nibbled to death by my 5 RBPs.
I also thought that no way the RBP's gonna punch thru that armor.

I was wrong. One less pleco for me. :)

It seems that many people think you should go with Red Bellies, but I think as long as youve kept any kind of fish that youve actually had to take care of you should be good. If you have the tank space, and the time then rhoms are an awesome fish to have.

I would get neighter unless you are really into piranhas Like myself and others. I think when it comes to a fish like a Rohm or a shoal of Pygos you really need to be commited Piranhas already have a bad rap and they aren't easy to get rid of once you get them I have a rohm that has been with me for 2 years and his color is starting to change but I am also getting ready to get him a 210 gallon tank as soon as I get a house.

I had both these piranha, for about 5 years, love them all, I started as a begginer when I bought them, takes some time to get use to all of the cleaning, after getting use to that, I think you will appreciate them alot more, do not go in thinking there killing machines they are very passive when not being fed. But do not, and I repeat do not underestamate them, at any time, very sharp teeth and quick reflects, do not go very well in a small tank that involves your hand arranging the tank(stupid experence). Especially the Rhom, evil little bastard.

Exadon are fun to watch. I keep them with my Pirahnas, and I've not had any trouble yet. It makes the tank a bit more diverse, even though I'm sure I'll get at least 1 PM after posting this telling me how it is a horrible idea.

You've got mail
