Yup, all depends how you set it up. With a bit of planning, you can make it so that there is no more water movement as if you were running a canister filter. In fact, Tom Barr has mentioned over on barrreport.com that he's planning on converting his tanks to a sump setup.

Having a sump means you have higher levels of dissolve oxygen. This in turn means you can push the co2 levels higher and it will have no negative effects on this :cheers:
