how could my friend get his koi out of the pond?

sure just use a size 4 hook on a 10lb mono and just crush some bread around the hook into a ball

not the best idea.... he can risk really hurting them. The hooks can be stuck any where might even be swallowed. My recomendation would be a cast net or a really big net or some sort.
