Because they both have separate jobs in this aquarium. (Algae & pest control) Will the Nerite survive assassination? I'm not entirely sure of the outcome, but there are hundreds of pest snails in the 10 gallon, and only two nerite snails. I also use API Root Tabs, Terrapur's cone shaped concentrated substrate fertilizer, Seachem Exel, iron, potassium and comprehensive plant supplement.
It really depends on the mixture of the bottle. How much Co2 and sugar used, and also what size your reactor is. Sometimes you get a stronger but shorter reaction and sometimes you get a weaker but longer lasting raction.
