Because they both have separate jobs in this aquarium. (Algae & pest control) Will the Nerite survive assassination? I'm not entirely sure of the outcome, but there are hundreds of pest snails in the 10 gallon, and only two nerite snails. The nerites are easily 4, if not maybe 5 or more times the body/shell mass of the assassin snails.

It really depends on the mixture of the bottle. How much Co2 and sugar used, and also what size your reactor is. Sometimes you get a stronger but shorter reaction and sometimes you get a weaker but longer lasting raction. I'd say about every two weeks i refill, but I've only been using the DIY co2 for a few months now.

If fluormax is anything like Seachem fluorite, just fillerup and put some fine filterfloss in all your filters before the biomedia to prevent clogging. It'll be practically settled in no time at all.
