10 gallon reborn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Screw dwarf puffer in a tank like this. Some kuhli loaches and corys would probably suit best. Dont forget snails.

The thing with kuhli loaches is although they may grow to 4", they are extremely flexible and will happily curl up in a tight ball even if tossed into a 39186548G tank.

the common name here is "chinese algae eater" i believe they do not get much bigger than 2-3 inches, check that out for algae eaters

Chinese Algae Eaters get between 6-10 inches. Not a good choice.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Is there any sort of bottom feeder I can fit in there? Maybe a couple otto's? I've been thinking about a pair of apistos.

Otos would work, maybe monkey loaches.
This type of tank is best for fish like tetras though pygmy sunfish would work. A monkey loach, a farlowella cat, 2 otos, and a dozen each of blue and lemon tetras or glow-lights would look sweet.

well in going with the one gallon of water for each inch of fish i say go with the pictus cat or any loach. both are small fish generally and would go beautifully with the tank. start with little ones maybe 2. 3 would be iffy if they got to their size. i have a pictus cat and i love him, he is nuts and scurries around the tank, pretty much does as he chooses. you might consider one they are alot of fun

That rule is for CUBIC inches of fish per gallon, please refer to the sticky.
The Pimoldus pictus gets about 4 1/2" long. so 4x1x1=4g but this is an exception to the rule, 1 pictus could easily work in a standard 10g but this is a hex tank, and a tall one at that. the widest part of the tank is about minimum width thor an active cat like this, there is no swimming room im a hex tank that size for a full grown pictus. Hex tanks cannot be used for active fish without approximately halving the max size of the fish in comparison to a standard rectangular tank.
Max length of the fish for this tank is about 3"

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll probably pick up some fish this weekend. I'll let you guys know what I get. My tank is crystal clear now. I think some tetras would look great in it.
