I have a "repti-carpet". Its basically a green layer of felt. Bed a beast, etc. works as well, but my guy spends 70% of his time off the ground so it doesnt really matter. The only time hes on the ground is when hes hungry.

How much do normal crested geckos cost? I went to petco and they wanted $50 for one.

For people who have leopard geckos, how active are they? What do you feed them? Will they eat prepared foods? What substrate would you use with small leopards? What size can you sex them at? They had some 3-3.5" ones but i couldnt get a good look at their tails because they were all hiding under a log.

i would get a 20g extra tall. its 20'' long. i would put a white line gecko in it.

It really depends on the Leo. I have a leo that is always active and wants to climb on everything. But then again its one of my older ones. My younger ones hide most of the time. Once they get comfortable with their surroundings I think they will be more active. Thats a no on the prepared foods for Leos. They are insectivores and really are only excited by live foods. The movement attracts them.

cresteds cost 50 around me also. my leo is only active after lights out. they will redilly eat mealworms, crickets, and waxworms. no prepared ''dead'' food will be exepted it needs to be moving. with small leos i use news paper or felt as they can become impacted very easily. as they get bigger (4-5'') they can be moved so a calcium sand or aspen snake beding. i would think you can sex them at 4''.when you co to a petstore look for the one with the fatest tail as there usually the one that eat well. if you can find a color morphed leo that will be a plus. my favorate morph is the snow leo.

a super snow morph

The smaller one doesnt seem to be eating much :irked:

ive been feeding them dusted mealworms, i dont know if the mealworms aren't moving around enough or what....

Try crickets they love them from the looks of those two you might have 1 male and 1 female by the shape of the head but they are still a little small to tell for sure.
