I am plannning to stock a 100 G with 5 Os. i am also planning to have potential tankmates such as common plecos and loaches. too bad, here in our place, the LFS only sells 3" clowns.

i it possible for me to stock my 100 G with this? i mean practically?

2 of the Os is my pair and they already laid eggs twice..

i just need some intelligent suggetions and ideas.

Unless you have a jet engine powered filter system, you're going to run into trouble with five Oscars in a 100g tank. Let alone adding more fish. I would keep the breeding pair in the 100. Then buy another tank for the others.

I have 2 O's in my 55 gal and they are doing just fine I also have an african butterfly, a rope eel and a pleco. The O's are about 6" each and the butterfly is 2" and the plecoo is just over 6", and the eel is about 8" i am amazed as to why they did not eat the butterfly they have eated everything else such as a green spotted puffer a dragon fish another smaller oscar three plecos and soo many feeders i cannot even count can anyone tell me why they would leave the butterfly.
P.S. I have known hundreds of people who have kept oscars in 55's and smaller and seen them grow to full size 16" or more. My friend has 6 10"ers in his 55 and they have been there breeding for years. I think it depends on who keeps them.

I would just keep the pair in the 100g. Anymore then that and you'll be faced with serious bio-load issues and likely aggresion as well.

In that tank, even if there's huge very frequent WC's problems will arise due to there being a pair in the tank. I would just leave the pair, and maybe an expendable pleco.

haha i dont realy flame on tanks overstocked/ to small but wow lol that tank must be half oscar half water. i want pics:ROFL: and you said it your self 10" isnt full grown for a oscar and you say they've been in there for years so they should be 14-16"

I am usually against the BS that people say with stocking Oscars, 1 in a 75, 2 in a 125 etc. But in your case you have a problem, that breeding pair will most likely cause problems in the future. You'll be fine for now but in the future your gonna have to add large sump. You'll probably be fine for now but once they get more size on them fighting is going to get bad. The pair are going to want all of the tank. I suggest saving and buying a 180 (6x2x2) keep an eye in the local paper for some good deals.
