I would make sure that silicone sticks to the tub before you go cutting any holes, I put silicone around my drain plug on mine and I don't think it adhered very well at all

Seth you haven't updated on your box turtles in awhile. Can we see them before hibernation or are we too late?

You're sort of too late. They've all dug in for the most part. But it's suppose to get up to 73˚ today so they might come out. If they do I'll get some pics.
