100 Gallon glass and hardwood tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is one Red Eared Slider(6"), one Mississippi Map(3.5"), nine Tiger Barbs(3 pregnant females at all times), four large goldfish, one Betta, three Fathead Minnows, and two BN Plecos(one is 3" and other is 4.5")

All the plants are fake, purchased from Michaels and given to me by others.

Driftwood collected from Gulf of Mexico and Bay in Panama City Beach, FL.

Background in an old 'Lifetime' conference table(made from HDPE) cut to shape, holes for fish, and siliconed broken ceramic tiles for future moss wall.

The tank as you know is an old desk, the glass I used from a broken 29 gallon from thrift store for $10.

Still need to finish the aquaponic trough thats going to sit on the background. I have some pothos or some kind of spider plant to go into the trough. I am building this out of left over table, and a seperate 155gph pump.

Question to the smart guys....

If I pipe my overflow to a spray bar above my sump tank, and position a fan on the front of the desk to draw in air from the back, through the spraybar, and out to the room, wont this act like a swamp cooler, keeping the water cooler and introducing cooler air into the room? Just a thought, it gets hot here and my house is not insulated at all, and this tank may end up as my aquaponics fish tank in the future, and being outside, I may need to cool it alittle.

Well, we can call this thread closed.

My next thread will be my semi-fish room(garage) where I will be breeding the tiger barbs to get a good shoal of 35 in the 112 gallon...

Thanks to all the ideas and input.
