Good thing you were home and not on vacation or out of town for the weekend, could of ended a lot worse. Best of luck

I felt physical pain while reading your post. I'm glad it's over and there were no losses except your brother's beauty sleep. I swear to God I'd have doused him with the 1st bucketful of water. That'd teach him to sleep while all hell is breaking loose 3' away from hom lol

All in all it could have been much worse.

Much worse? how so?!?! LOL

Sorry man, dont mean to laugh. That really sucks. I imagine you will be tossing that carpet eventually. I had a 30 gallon leak in my sons room. Maybe 10 gallons (maybe more) was in the carpet. I steam cleaned that carpet numerous times and could never get 100% of the fish smell out. Eventually I pulled it out and put down a floating floor. No more tank in that room either.

Thats pretty scary. I have the SAME exact old style used tank, mines a 135. looks identical, it also has no top braces. There are some L brackets screwed on the corners where yours broke on the top. (I didn't put them there)

I made 3 top braces out of 2 x 4s to keep the tank from bowing and it was recently resealed. Hopefully mine does not share the same fate..

Sorry about the loss, glad your fish are okay

Good thing you were home. And really good to hear all the fish survived....good thing for having multiple tanks. Hope the carpet survives.
