100 gallon Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
there are lots of dwarf type SA/CA cichlids.. why not research them? i would do the blue eyed cutteri-but thats just me. or apistos-they have lots of species to choose from..

africans would probably tear up the others-they are more aggressive. id say take the two zebras to the LFS as part of a trade lol.. i find that my red zebras are the most aggressive in my tank out of all my mbuna.

personally, i would do a chocolate cichlid (ive been wanting one) a few sev's and a a couple more docile SA/CA cichlids..

I actually loved the african cichlid tank, funny how u tools are giving him advice and critisim too funny.... show a tank you have and try to make it look 100% clear

Ohhhh with the serverums try and pass on them lol!!
i had so many of em to all have to pick on each other and just all die..
but then again i have bad luck ohh andd...
i have this one severum he is prob 8years old now called nugget a gold serverum with that much personallity he would make a trained dog look like a fish lol...
went to the melbourne aquarium bout a month ago and looked and the rift tanks and nugget was bigger than theres in there 1000g tanks lol =) ill have to show him too you sometime..
i have had really really bad luck with severums though even from juvies to adults they just pick at each other till they all die.. or the fish you add in the future come in which the severums pick on them and rip fins tear tissue and kill more fish..
all up too you though
i wish you luck how everyou go about it please please make sure to keep us updated on this 100g tank very interested to see how it comes together
goodluck mate
p.s Wish i had a spare 100g tank haha :)

hey all, drop the name calling. If you have a problem with the way people are doing things that is fine, share your ideas, but any more flaming on anyone's part and infractions will follow.

its your tank, so in the end do what you want. I would like to have seen the mbuna idea. But you also mentioned you have other tanks with africans, so a change is always good. I wanted to try something different also, so i went for a planted tank with german blue rams, and neon tetras.

Well...the decision has been made...this is what I'm going for:

1 Braziliensis
1 Chocolate Cichlid
1 Rotkeil Severum
1 Super Red Severum
and possibly 1 or both of the Firemouths that I already own from another tank

Pics will follow when completed....I also built 2 new custom fish stands to go along with the new laminate floor that I just put down...(boy...am I broke...LOL)

So what do you guys think of my final decision ?

That's going to blow some socks off man. Geophagus Braziliensis are stunning! Good luck with it! :)

*oh, I was thinking of Surinamensis, but the Bra looks pretty nice, too.*

Well...not the best pics...and can't see all the fish cause they are only all about 3 or 4 inches in size...but will give you an idea of the tank, one of the stands I built, and the decor....have an Rena XP4 and a Marineland Magnum 350 Pro running for filtration..hope y'all like it...looking forward to posting pics when the fish are older.
