i have a 55 gallon with 6 4in red bellied piranhas. the tank has a aqueon 55 and a top fin 20. and i got a gravle vac to day so chill lol

100% water changes will not harm your fish, filter, or anything else. That notion is pure nonsense. As as longtime discus keeper, massive daily water changes is a common practice, and a absolute necessity to raise very young discus without stunting their growth.

That's sort of suggestive TP... hmmm....

It would have been a lot simplier for the OP to make a "common sense" decision if he wasn't liied to from the beginning...

Forgive SOME people for sticking up for the new guy... next time I'll just let you guys lie to 'em ;)

I always appreciate your sound advice. Don't let the rowdies run you off!

Not even with a barebottomed low bio-load, properly plumbed system??
lol I meant the guy I was talking to-the OP-with his fish, his gravel and the filters he happened to have :-)

i used to change 100% water when i started fish keeping, although it is bad for beneficial bacteria build up/cycling, none of the fishes gone bad. I think it is ok to do it once if your water is really dirty(dirty water will kill your fish), make sure to use water conditioner during water change.

If you step up your water changes and use your vac, it will solve your problem.

yeah right now my koi grow out and my 125g are both bare bottomed. i don't gravel vac I simply net out the waste. then do a regular wc. which is far easier to do off of my siphon by the sump rather than using a gravel vac.
