1000g for $150

It says it's cracked on the bottom panel. It's also a 12 FOOT tank. How could repairs possibly cost anywhere near what that tank is worth? I'm not an acrylic expert but I'd assume you could just buy some scrap acrylic of the proper thickness, cover and seal, and then bury it in gravel/sand and never know the difference.

It'd be better if it was 144x45x36 rather than 36 front to back, but sheesh... $150 plus some labor for a 12 foot tank? Yet another reason I wish I lived in Texas.

Hell, that's a great deal even if you just buy it so you can yank the front panel off and use it for a DIY tank.

My thoughts exactly

Genius!!!

I'm looking at a uhual rental and a road trip... :screwy:

I put in a call to see if a friend of a friend down there (right near that intersection too) could store it in his garage for me for about a year. :) No clue how I'd get it to Chicago but I'd figure something out...

If you get that aquarium and store it for a year I might have to take a plane up to chicago and knock you out! I smell a road trip this weekend! I only live about 4 hours away from this place and I have 2 2x4 sheets of 1/4 inch acrylic. I would need more acrylic, but it would be worth it.

This tank would span from wall to wall in my room! I would have to move the bunny cage, so I would probably just build the cage into 4 feet of the stand!

No answer from the friend. I don't think he believes I'm serious. But I'll still fight you for it!

Actually as long as the buyer was on this site and shared the setup with us and took lots of pictures I'm sure nobody would complain.

I measured the hallway in the current apartment. It'd span the entire hallway width exactly, come up to the light switch, and be 80% of the entire length of it. A fish tank is almost the size of the entire hallway!

And to think, that'd just be a secondary tank for me if everything goes according to plan...

i dont think it would even fit through a standard doorway.

Nope. No chance.

you better be setting that tank in the bassement, cus if you dont it will be crashing into the bassement as soon as you fill it up

(That would be a fun little prank to pull on the landlords and bastards below us before we move out of the place...)

This is why one of the top priorities in the next house is a basement with external access. It's a shame how uncommon this has become.
