1000g for $150

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
posting has been deleted. Personally if I found a tank like that I wouldn't have posted it on here. I would have bought it myself, and then asked "how do I fix my new $150 1000 gal aquarium?", just me though!!! Hope you're the one who got it.

I am on a slab and I have a nice 40" tall, 8ft wide window that i can lift the panes out of...

I was seriously considering it, even if i just had to sit it in my backyard for a while. That was until my mom flciked me on the forehead for asking... I think it is time for a Houston trip anyways *shrugs*

I'd assume you could just buy some scrap acrylic
a 12'x3' piecee of "scrap"?:ROFL:thats more like custom order and you better be sitting down when you find out how much thats gonna cost ya. i would take the cost of the tank and the cost of the repair and just start with a new tank, minus the labour and headache.

You would not replace the whole pane but patch up the cracks by welding thinner acrylic sheets over them! Turns out the window is 34" tall! There is one door and one window in the house I could fit it through!!! I would actually put it on the living room and move the couch.

I saw the 500 also... I bet you could take put the broken panel and epoxy the 2 pieces together. Then you could put the piece back in and viola! New tank! Just keep the never broken side the primary viewing point... Idk if it could work but it would be cheap to fix like that, although labor intensive.

Your correct about patching acrylic. It's easy! The back panel of my 360 cracked when I dropped it moving . I patched it up with acrylic cement something called weld-on??? or "weld" sometning.....and some "scrap" 1/4 thick acrylic. No leaks for two years now! I actually think it's stronger than it use to be. Thankfully it was the back panel so it's out of view, because the patch looks just like that....a patch lol.

If just your bottom panel is cracked your all set, patch it then cover it with sand/gravel

Yah it is weldon, weldon 16 is like silicone and 3 is like water.

I think that the 500 would not look to bad, but you could always make it an inwall tank and have the front bow stick out. I kinda want the 500 just because I could just fill it up part way and do a paludarium with it...
