1000g w/ Spray Paint on it...can it be done?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I honestly think you could get the paint off without sanding. You just have to decide if the price is right.

You sure you don't just want a tank that says "BLAZE IT CRACKY" on the side? lol.

Wow. Thanks everyone for the input. Firstly, I don't plan on paying the asking price...the wife is an excellent negotiator! Second, I will definitely by doing some trials before working on the tank. Finally, I need to find a fricking place to put it. Its either going in the garage or i'm building a deck/greenhouse in the backyard!

dam lucky that wasn't abandoned around here lol the kids wont tag it they will drag it home xD !

I cant see any issue getting spray paint off it, with glass I use a razor and a rag it just comes off with a bit of water.

I would first try putting some meth spirits on it or turps etc let it sit for a few mins then scrub!! worst comes to worst acrylic can be sanded so if you sand 1-2mm off it you should get the paint off it just with a light sand.

Maybe even try cut and polish? I painted a BMW on accident once (paint gun was in a little room but one panel wasnt fixed right anyways bmw was the wrong color got a professional cut and polish and they got pretty much all the paint off just using the high powered water gun and a sheep wool sand thing.

p.s the tank says blazey... RIP cracky. so blazeys friend died and he wrote rip on a fish tank oh god...

Buy that puppy...Spray paint will easily come off (Plus you know, since it was some lazy crack-head gang-banger that did this the spray paint was prob. cheap, which means more likely it is easier to remove). I'd tell him to take 2 grand TOPS, try for less by all means :D.

that wa sleft in a abanded house and got tagged eh .... damn if i would saw it in a abanded house i would got a trailer and brought it home in middle of the night lol .... not piant it geeze lol... call and ask a acrylic shop or people that build/repair them, and ask what they would suggest doing to remove it without having to sand if needed, they may even be able to clean it for cheap for you if you dont have the means to do it
