Awesome looking fish man love him, is he aggressive and how big will he get ?

The bowfin is agressive but not territorial. Doesn't take s*** from anyone. You can see the channel cat in the background, its nearing 2' and stocky.. when the cats fight it usually spooks the bowfin and it always ends the fight.. the other day it bit the channels fin and wouldn't let go then proceeded to headbutt the bullheads repeatedly, like I said he don't start fights he ends them....

Sizewise I'm not sure on captivity size but thus is the first time his abdomen is as big as his head. That means he's eating and hopefully show signs of growing soon

Oh yeah the bright green on the fins is not the camera. It's almost kawasaki candy green... If only my bike was the color of his fins.....

no news is good news. tank is still going strong. only changes are stocking. rehomed some fish. current stock is bowfin, channel cat, 2 longnose gar, one florida gar, pumpkinseed, bluegill and a largemouth bass. ill get some updated pics of the fish soon.

So after many months of not many changes, last nite one if my laguna pumps quit... turns out the stainless nutserts pulled out of the plastic, pretty much seperating the impeller from the housing. Luckily i am into rc cars and had plenty if stainless hardware so i drilled through the housing and nut and bolted the pump back together...
