$12.99 rare find

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't think it was that big of a deal, I gues technically it is wrong, but I read more threads on this site about ppl paying to much for what they think is one thing just to find out it is not.

Then I hear from everyone else that the guy who got screwed should have done more research and he wouldn't have gotten screwed.

LFS will always charge you as much as they can, so them eating 3 bucks is nothing.

Whats up Zepp. Congrads on the new scomb. I have 1 scomb with 2 VATF's.My scomb was areund 2.5-3" when I bought him. Its been a little over 1 month and hes about 3.75 inches long. I hear that theyu grow about 1 inch a month and around 7-8" they slow down. I hear they do best alone since they are very nervous fish. Try to get him off live food! Try krill, silversides, whitemeat, black worms... So far I got mine off feeders for about 1 week, then I got my Vittatus. I'll try again to get all 3 of them off feeders next week. If I were you I would add Aquarium Salt and 15-20% water change once a week (min). Pretty cool fish though. I do hear that red tail and armotus is the way to go except they cost an arm and a leg

ok i should have been honest, you guys got me and are right as always, now can we get over it?

ea2248- Thank you! Yea i am trying to get him off feeders and am not having good luck with it. Thanks for the info also.

wait how much do they normaly go for? i saw a whole tank marked up at $9.99 about a year ago but i didnt know what they were so i didnt buy them. sure wanted to tho.

i just saw some at a local shop that were 8 to 10" for $80

the dude at the shop advised me that if i did purchase one to get a couple powerheads to get the water moving more in my tank, like to make a good current, he said something about it having to constantly move around always being very active due to a very high metabolism
he seems like a pretty knowledgeable fellow, had i really thought about buying the fish i would have researched his advise a little more before i bought one
hope this helps you
good luck

I made a mistake of buying a 10" one at my LFS and not knowing how slow they grow this guy was atleast 4-5 years old and he only lived about 5 months after I bought him. But that is one monster of a fish, Currently looking for a 125g for it's bigger cousin, THE ALMIGHTY ARMATUS!!!
