12" catfish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
not ruling it out-just have heard alot about the gulpers around here lately.I am investigating these all on planetcatfish as you all throw the names out at me

Gulpers are cool, but also expensive. Not to mention they'll eat everything in the tank all of a sudden your monster community is now a gulper species tank. LOL

Go with a school of limas! Six of these guys hovering around in and out of some plants would be very cool...

couldn't agree more about the price of gulpers or how cool 6 limas would be :D

limas at 16.5" a piece-probably wouldn't go so well with 6 of them tank cruising
they dont tank cruise. they hover in place, thats why art suggested that number of em

Go with the bullhead! My girlfriend caught one when we went camping and I wanted to bring it back for the tank, realized it probably wouldn't survive so I just tossed it back in.

wow we have 3+ for bullheads :) im advocating for bullheads so strongly because i really believe they arent counted for in the list of great cats(or fish for that matter). i guess they are sort of like gulpers, inactive at day and active at night, like most cats, but the good thing about bullheads is they can survive power outages because they dont need heat :D seriously though, check out some vids of bullheads on youtube. theyre a great fish for the aquarium, but in the end, REMEMBER, it is your decision what you get :)

maybe ill get 1 of each-and thats kool as hell if the lims will just hover since the gulper wont move and the bullhead will probably just hide

ho hum...planet catfish fan eh? Limas don't often get that big. Twelve inches is average. Not to mention there not very active, they just hover around all day and are slow growers after they hit a certain point.
