12 Volt Man's Aqueon 150 Gallon Startup Thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks!

stocking list will be something like:

2 lemon finned barbs - these will be the centerpeice fish since they get massive - I know :)
2 normal red tinfoil barbs
4 redhook SD's
severums (?)
4 clown loaches
and some bushy nose plecos...

something like that...

the bushynose will probably disappear over the black, but the rest of the fish should look really good...

looking forward to seeing it.....

Very nice, the Black on Black looks awesome!!!

Awesome, Lemon Finned barbs are such cool fish for sure...cant wait to see it! If you got albino bristlenoses theyd really pop on that black.

first additions:

4 redhooks (these were nice so I grabbed a few)

and

4 very small yellowfin barbs. hard to come by in my area so I grabbed 4 while I could.

Will likely NOT keep all 4 long term since they will get 18" long, but will probably select the nicest two and keep them. but all 4 can probably stay in the tank for a year or so...they are so small I really can't tell which ones (if any) will have nice orange fins or not....

nice pick ups, do you still have those 2 huge barbs?

unfortunately no, when I moved I had to sell all my freshwater stuff..but I really loved those barbs thats why I got a few small ones while I could...

I was looking for some nice normal red tinfoils today but I hit 3 fish stores and no one had any good quality ones...

thats the thing - everyone inculding walmart will have tinfoil barbs.

but finding good quality ones is another story...
