thanks! one issue I am debating is whether or not to put it on the wall adjacent the fireplace...

it would open up the room more, and the tank would not face the window directly (which isn't really a problem once I get better blinds)

BUT

it does look a bit confined there.. my father and I slid the tank into that spot, and the edge of the fireplace mantel is only like 2 inches away from the end of the tank....

I am leaning towards leaving it right where it is...

You have a nice house and now a really nice aquarium setup to compliment the house.:) How sturdy is that stand? I'm kind of worried of that stand based one the size of the metal bar used.

thanks! actually, these steel stands are made from 1 1/2 inch steel tubes..

the LFS says they actually handle the weight much better than any of the prefab stands from All-glass...which are pine strips but held together with glue and staples...no nails, no wood screws....

my old 90 and 65 sat on a similar tube stand like this: and it wasn't 1.5 inch steel, it was 1 inch..

thanks, I got one of those double sided backgrounds from Big Al's - one side is blue one side is black.

I am thinking black...

for filtration, I am planning on using

1 AC110
2 Rena XP3's.

I have them already, so I figure that should do the trick..

I have the blue and black background on my 220, I have the blue side showing so the fish pop a little more. That is also plenty filtration for a 150 so you shouldnt have any problems there.

is there water in it yet?
