I recently rescued an oscar from some folks that moved. They had a looooooooong drive ahead of them and had no way to get it to their destination. I got him with 29 gallon bowfront tank he was in for free although I gave the guy 20 bucks for his troubles. The fish is close to a foot long and needed a new home when I got it. I found a 120 gallon 4x2x2 tank with an oak stand and only for $200 so I can get the fish in a better home. What do I need to get to make this fish comfotable? I would like to have a professional set up as an end product but I do not need it to be top of the line right now. Dump your info on filters, pump, heaters etc for me. Price is somewhat an object but not as much as quality. Thanks.

dr foster and smiths, get the filstar xp3 fpr $109 and the aq110 for $33. That should be good for filters. Heather just a stealth 200w. rest is up to you. No plants as the oscar will tear them up.

my cascade 1500 on my 180 was terrible so I got a fluval fx5.

Big price difference between the cascade & the fluval. I think you can get 2 1500s and a 12 pack of beer for the same price as one fx5

For the top you can get some glass tops from just about any good lfs(fish store). The filters named are what I would have recommended also. And if it was me i would make some sort of rock structure in the tank and get him some freinds.

Awesome vid Sanjo. That looks like the solution for me. Do you know of any common hardware stores that will have the glass scoring tool in the vid or will I have to grab one off ebay?
