I wondering if I could add an "area light" just for the sword? Newbie question of course :D

Thanks!

I'm new to plants too, but I don't see why not. Theres no need to spend loads of money on a light for the whole tank if you only have plants in one are.

I'd say they have strangely round bellies :D:D It may be because they are still young, probably getting close to 4".

Yeah, perhaps a bit of both, Araguaia have quite steep heads which I'm used to. I've seen some Tapajos in the past that are just deformed pointy - yours are fine :p

I've bought several lights from these guys. They are by far the cheapest around. For the price you will not beat them. My current planted tank has the 48" 4 bulb T5 system. The only problem is that all of there stuff is setup for saltwater so you have to buy two 5500K or 6500K to replace the actinic. The blue moon lights that come built in are really cool.

wow that is incredibly cheap. The bulbs on the site are also really cheap though.

The lights are not the highest quality, but what do you expect for there price. They do work extremely well though and light your tank as well as the same fixtures you would pay $300 for. The plastic is just a little thin and the parts and probably not as high quality. I've been using one of there fixtures on my planted tank for 2 years with no problems. The fan and LED lights still work and I replace the T5's every 6-8 months. I highly reommend anyone that buys a light from them get one of the surge protector strips with 3 sets of timers made for these 3 plug lights. They work perfect. I start with 5500k lights for 2 hours, then the 10,000k come on along with the 5500K for 5 hours then 1 hour of 5500K and then blue LED the rest of the time. You can also use the strip to run CO2 reactors or regulators so everything is perfectly automated.
