Oops.. sorry, missed your ? ..No the tank does not have an overflow. I have a sump hooked up and that is probably what you see in the pix. thanks.

let us clear up this datnoid fiasco. The chart tell us the general look of a perfect datnoid. Either it is an indo, pulcher, microlepis, thin bar, new guinea, silver and the rest. The tail is based on personal judgment. The bar which is more important than the tail, is what we should be looking at. :)

For example: If a thin bar has a tail like pulchers, will you consider this widebar?
Next, if a widebar has a tail of a silver datnoid will you consider it widebar?

Again, you cannot expect a perfect tail in the end. Some will have perfect tail markings and some don't. The majority of your decision should be based on the wideness of the bar and not the marking on the tail. But, this is my opinion. Those charts were also based on people's judgment. :D

Hey Ridah,

I hope talking about all that dat identification stuff didnt hurt ur sale to be honest. I still may be interested in the dat since i trust taht u know its a widebar even tho that one side looks different. Its a beautiful fish either way. I'm going up to central cali for a wedding and coming back down and if he happened to be still available (which i highly doubt since its so nice) ill stop by and buy him off yah. Lemme know if you sell him between now and....i think it would be sunday. If hes still available by friday, ill get your information so i could call to see if u still got it.

Thanks for your interest but the Widebar is sold. Also, who said the other side looks different? Bars are evenly uniformed on both sides. Just because I refused to post a picture of the other side?

Info... I picked up this Widebar from Kai (XCUTER) the reason he said to post pictures of the other side was to show people how even the bars are on both sides. Words out of your mouth that he is one of the experts of Datnoids he should know what he's selling don't you think.

This is the most major mistake everyone makes. DO NOT COUNT BARS, and DO NOT LOOK at the Body bars.

First off, if you are really good, you can tell by just looking at a body shape, but this is not prominent on very small dats. On smaller dats, you can look at the very last stripe, and if it bleeds into the tail, it is a Datnoides Pulcher. 100 % positive identification.

QUESTION #1: For example: If a thin bar has a tail like pulchers, will you consider this widebar?

Uh..it's a thinbar :)

Next, if a widebar has a tail of a silver datnoid will you consider it widebar?

 No, it would be a mutant, a hybrid, a nuclear accident.

Again, you cannot expect a perfect tail in the end. Some will have perfect tail markings and some don't. The majority of your decision should be based on the wideness of the bar and not the marking on the tail. But, this is my opinion. Those charts were also based on people's judgment. :D

You just couldn't resist cant you ?
