no i haven't tried rubbing alcohol will give that a shot i guess....

I would call a glass company, there is usually one in every town, tell them what you got and what the glass was used for, and see what they recommend, they probably have somthing really cheap to clean it up sparkley, or will tell you its etched by some chemical, and how to deal with that. I have a lot of lime in my area, and everytime i drain a tank ive got a cloudy glass, inside, but usually it will clean up with vinegar. I have used lime away in the past, which is pretty aggressive, and flushed for about an hour afterwards, but it took off the lime. YOURS may not be lime

My guess is that your glass is etched then. You can either take it somewhere to get it buffed or try to buff it yourself. If it were me, I'd fill it with water to see if it's noticeable and if it is, then take it to a glass place to see what they say.

looks like a good deal....I looked at the exact same one at my LFS and they wanted $240 i think........Another LFS wanted $365 for for an FX5

This afernoon I bought an FX5 on eBay for $199 free shipping

As far as the glass goes, Im going to try and fill it a little and see if the glass still looks bad, if it does i'll keep trying things to fix the problem

My next question is about Airstones/pumps.....

I like the look of some air bubbles, What do you reccomend for a pump and stone or bar?

I also have 2 standard type (black/woodgrain 48" light strips....I want LED moonlight and also some kind of BLACK cap to go over everything, I like that look.....WHere can I get something like that cheap for a 48Lx18D

In anyones opinion, what would be an appropriate tank size to house one of these to maturity. assuming few or no other inhabitants.
any advice appreciated :)

You're referring to largemouths? I'd say a 300 would be the minimum for one fish. Even that would be pretty confining for a lunker bass.

The OP changed his mind about get LMB or other big sportfish and try out redeye bass, redfin/grass pickerel and small panfish.

I was referring to the red eye bass, i always want to check out first if i can provide adequate housing, to maturity any fish i try to get, Or have options, such as giving them to other interested hobbyist. That is (the red eye) a great alternative to Largemouth etc. That i know get too large for me to deal with, and now after some investigation, im gonna pass on that one as well, because just turning them loose when they get too big to keep is NOT an option for me.
