Is it really worth the extra $$ in most cases to go w/a 180 rather then a 125? Those of you that have a 125, would you rather have a 180 if room permitted it? Everyone w/a 180, is it harder to upkeep (clean, setup, etc) compared to a 125? Or does it just boil down to what type of fish one will own?

Personally speaking I have a 120 and would LOVE to go to a 180, or even bigger to be honest.

For me it has to do with the type of fish that I would like to keep.

I have a 125 ...and its because of money that I don't have a bigger tank with the same footprint.

I have 125 with a breeding pair of flowerhorns in it. Now correct me if Im wrong but isnt a 180 the same size its just a few inches taller than a 125? If that is true I would not want a 180 because of the fact that unless you are 6'5'' it is gonna be a lot more difficult to do regular maintenance reaching into the tank and all.....I love my 125, its size has a presence and the maintenance is easy.

it would be worth it. I had to go with a 150g long (a 125 but 6" taller) because I was limited by floor space in my fishroom. I wanted as large as possible but I couldn't go with a 24" wide tank, allowing for space behind for my AC110 etc. It sticks out too far from the wall given the short adjacent wall and fireplace..

but the extra width would totally be worth it..

125g is nice size. Pretty easy to maintain. 180 would be a nicier start of tank for a large tank but I'm over the 18'' width ready for a 280g 3' width would make everyone happier I think.

The last two comments make a lot of sense to me.. My spot could house either a 125 or 180. Just nothing longer then 6'. I'm going to look at a 125 set up today, and will probably look at 180 also to see the difference. I'm 6'2" w/long arms.. lol. I'm hoping that's good enough.

I have a 180 and a 125 and the 180 does have alot more room front to back but it is a massive pain to move. the 125 is much lighter and still makes a great frontosa tank.

I have a 180, and used to have a 125. 180 all the way, the whole time of having my 125 all I think about is going bigger.:headbang2
