  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes! finally some real people!
thansk guys.
the price tag is true but it keeps me interested bc there are so many more aspects to it. especially bc you can create a true mini eco system.
but i have my real monsters too :)
n otherone, i will try n get a pic tonight. its hard bc they never stop moving lol

There are people that keep sick fish, and there are people that keep monster tanks.

Unfortunately many people on this site know that they need a monster tank to have their dream fish.

When they see others doing it in an enclosure that is too small, they tend to open up fire.

I have bred oscars...and I have a marine angel. I can tell you now that my navarchus angel is going to outgrow my 125g...without a doubt.

Sooner or later if you have kept enough monster fish you just feel bad seeing them put in tanks where you know that soon they will be beyond its potential.

fleh man i understand that. but honestly my angel is about 3 inches right now. even if my situation changed and i couldnt house him properly i have multiple people that have 240+ tanks that would happily adopt him. like i said i am gettin my fish very small for that exact reason. i know that angels love having room to swim. most salt fish are all over the place. unlike oscars which dont really move much compaired to saltys. but right now a 3 in fish has six feet in one direction and 18 inches in the other to swim.... he is good. i know the potential size these fish can get. i do my research before buying fish. i know everythin you guys have said. it didnt need to be stated bc i wasnt asking. and i guess i should have know to defend myself from the start. i appologize that i didnt tell you everythin i know in a post about my fish.

I wonder what size tank Stopsharkfinning started with because perhaps along similar lines my Parachromis Dovii's led to an indoor pond. It was eventually an epic fail IMO because I didn't have MFK to warn me of the potental hazards involved. I thought I had it all figured out til' summer time came around. Outside water evaporates into the atmosphere - inside it goes into the walls, furniture, etc... and at 20 gals a day it makes for a very uncomfortable house - super humid and musty. After the fact MFKers suggested I could've installed vent fans - day late dollar short but this is what all this is all about - the sharing of our success's and our failures so as a community we can grow healthy large fish and enjoy our hobby with minimal headaches hopefully.

I kinda even disagree with Nonstophoops - I'm not sure theres a conventional tanksize large enuff to house any shark for life, they need alot of swimming range that box tanks just don't have - reef fish are more suitable with much less range.
With that being said it didn't stop - stopsharkfinning from making it happen.

lol this isnt a white tip or a active shark. its a seditary shark, he only moves to find food. he nevers leaves the bottom. i think my angel needs more actual swim space. but oh well. whats up with mfk...... it looks really wierd and cheap now

he aint goin no where!

+1 to almost all of this. Although I believe that there are big enough tanks to house sharks in for life.

Carpet sharks should be sedentary...they are hunters by night. There are very few ambush sharks and the carpets/cats are not amongst them IMO.

yes fleshy but i honestly think if my shark was in a thousand gallon tank he would still only move as far as he needed to find food. thats it.
