I have this combo on a 90 with giant fish and it is a great combo.

You do not need to match the speed perfectly, all you need is the overflow to do more gph than the pump, the overflow will only siphon/drain the amount of water that is being put into the tank by the pump.Epic Fabrications;1018343; said:the AC110's hang off the side and stick out another 6" from the tank (atleast.) I have plenty of space under a 125, obviously. I have to lean over the AC110 to reach anything and a pipe on the end would save a lot of space. I've been looking around at home made wet/dry systems but I dont know if I quite understand the part about water falling in, and the pump matching that speed perfectly. does the inlet pipe need to be adjusted to perfectly match the speed of the pump? because a lot of submerged pumps cant run dry.
My pump is 950gph flat. probably in the range of 700gph with a 3 ft rise.

what about canasters? what could I buy for under $200 that cant replace AND do a better job than the AC110? the UG filters are staying no matter what.
