125g Filtration idea's...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The reason for keeping the UG is because my father insisted on it. I dont like them either. I left for 2 days and he went up to the house to find his 14 year old Tin Foil Barb dead, his 12 year old bala; dead, and my silver aro dead. all with no explanation. at the time, the only established tank was a 55 and the 125 didnt have a single accessory, with the exception of the UG plates. In stead of telling me my Aro was dead and he lost 2 fish that were very special to him, he went out and bought the powerheads, gravel, ac110, visitherm stealth(strange because he HATES heaters and is completely against them in general) and a digital thermomiter, and stayed up untill 4 in the morning working on it. He leaves for work at 5 every morning to drive an hour and a half to work a 12 hour day...every day. He lost a lot of sleep to make me happy, so they're staying.

What he did meant a lot for me and I wont let his hard work be thrown out the window because of someones personal preference.

 EEEZZYY neighbor. They're just opinions not mandates. You do what works for you. If someones suggestion fits your needs, run w/ it. If not toss it. Calm & objective, that's it.
Never had ugf so I can't comment. 2 cans & 1 hob + 2 p/h for a little extra movement is what works for my 125g. Good luck, "T"

;]they're 8" now and I'm sick of hearing people give me s*** about them. [/B]Would you rather I didnt buy them and let Walmart sell them to a 4 year old who will keep them in a .5 gallon goldfish bowl and starve it? 125 is luxury to a fish that has seen such conditions and I'm sick and tired of hearing people bit** about it. I cant sell something no body wants and if I tried to sell it to a LFS, I would only be repeating history for these fish and they would fall into the wrong hands and die.

I'll buy another AC110 for now I guess, but I need to buy my girlfriend a 55 complete set up soon because she was fooled into buying a few angels and kissing gourami's for her 20l.

I'm a lifeguard so I'm not exactly raking it in here. I'm trying to do my best and try to make a few fishes lives a little less miserable.

I was not giving you SH** about your pacus, I only asked if you were planning on keeping. I also noticed you got quit defensive over the UG filter, sorry to have upset you. You posted a question and I gave my opinon. Not sure what you though was gonna happen, not a problem though I'll stay clear of your posts from here on out:)
