okay.. been doing some serious thinking...the only filters that I can get around here are the AC's and the fluvals... so .. that being said.. the AC's are easier to clean BUT you have to clean them so often. The fluvals can get messy if I over feed ..so do more water changes, feed less, and have the tank out of sunlight... great.. guess I will go with the fluval.. Next question is .. how many and what size ?
At least compare some prices. PetBlvd.com might be cheaper, even with shipping. Remember: No tax on the internet (at least in the US)! And my filter arrived within three days.
I am old school. Been fish keeping for 30 years. Why not just use under gravel and be done with it. Most of my tanks use it and I have messy Oscars and such with no problems. Sure I do water changes once a week, but hey this is fresh water, just stir things up and syphon out then fill again. I have well water that is more than clean enough for the fish. If your water is chlorinated is is a bit more hassle.
IMO Under gravel filters are are the best and easiest way to go with FW. The way things have come about in the last few years there are many people who disagree but again that is my opinion.
