Dude that RBTA and toadstool look sick. Does your algae scrubber work?

Thanks. I drove over there only looking to buy the RBTA+rock+clowns, but he gave me a sick deal on that toadstool....it's massive. Sold me that skunk cleaner shrimp for 10 bucks. It's a decent size, watched it clean the trigger fish last night...it has balls I give it that...lol

And the scrubber is working. I just cleaned it before I took that pic. It was pretty easy to make. The whole things comes right out so it's somewhat portable (easy to clean).

It's working a lot better than the chaeto did. I could not get the chaeto ball to grow down there...go figure. This hobby is all about experimenting hehe :D

I am going to raise my lights up when I go home for lunch today to help acclimate these 2 as well.

Going from a 60g 4 bulb T5HO (what the seller ran) to my LED might be a little too much for them starting out....

Where did you find the plans for the scrubber? I can't grow chaeto to save my life either.

Thanks! Im going to put one together this weekend

Cool. Yeah the 19 dollar submersible pond ("waterfall") pumps at Lowes work just fine. I think I got the 50gph one. The 30 and 50 are the same price (19 dollars).

How did you run the water? Do you have it running through the whole frame or just the top bar? Also did you drill the holes for the water to come out in the middle of the top pvc piece or pff to both sides so it runs down each side of the netting?

whole frame. i constructed a sealed frame (rectangle) and on the top bar i drilled small holes (for water to trickle down the screen). the pump connects to the frame at the bottom. the whole thing is portable, lifts out of the sump tank etc.
