14 Gallon Biocube Reef Tank with Updates

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah, The Dinosaur tracks are pretty cool but I expected them to be more distinct, but when the guides start pointing out Dinosaur poop, eggs, and skeletons. Then I'm skeptical because those weren't real. I think the petrified wood was cooler then the dinosaur tracks.

Future plans for the tank: Possibly Royal Gramma, 5 Sexy Anenome Shrimp, Feather duster, Birdsnest coral, open brain coral, mini carpet anenome, and probably an acropora.

I'm going to also modifiy the filter so it will remove phosphates and nitrates. I want to add a small basket right before the intake for it with some Chaetomorpha algae.

I still need to add at least 4 pounds of rocks and I need to do that as soon as possible so I can attach corals where I want them

I will put pictures up tonight after I'm done with work since I'm leaving for work pretty soon.

Looking forward to it man...I have a couple things from your list that I would let go cheap. Let me know and maybe we can work something out.

Thanks, Maybe in the long run if you have them.

Prom is coming up soon so have to buy all that fun stuff such as Tux, Tickets, Corsage and Boutonniere, and then of course there always the fun parties after prom so might have to chip in some gas money.

Then of course there is some other things I have planned for Spring Break such as going to Milwaukee and Chicago.

Then there are some concerts I'd like to go to in the summer. SUMMERFEST! (So Excited)

And then I'm planning a good Mother's Day Gift for my mom by taking her to see Les Miserables in April or May at either Uihlein Hall in Milwaukee or Overture Hall in Madison

But here are the promised Pictures sorry there is only two but I have to clean the tank so I can get pictures of the Candy Cane because all the camera focuses on is the algae

Decent start...one thing I would like to say though is this.

Whenever you put a coral into your tank, make sure that it is something that you will really want long term. If it isnt, and it spreads, you might end up feeling like you are at a dead end, and just want to give up on your tank if it is invested with one coral or another, especially as you want to try some more advanced stuff.

You are definitely right about that. It was like when I went to the LFS for the first time to get corals and I saw the Mushroom the guy just kept on trying to sell me some palythoa's which were just brown in color. And I just kept thinking, these are really ugly and I'm not going to want these further down the line

Good choice. Check out my 125g thread for pictures of all my corals to see if there is anything you might like. :D

It's actually been named that for over a year now, but none of us use that name :P

Yeah I read that online! I've known it as Sears Tower my whole life! On the metra ride back to Antioch one of the conductors asked us what we did in Chicago and we said we went to the Willis Tower and he made the same comment that pretty much everyone refuses to call it the Willis Tower
